2011 Senior Model Search!
Application Deadline for the Senior Model Squad is now over. We are no longer accepting applications for the Class of 2011!
Thanks to everyone who applied. It looks like we’ll have a great bunch of models to work with this year. It’s really sad that we can’t accept everyone who applies. But, it is only fair to the chosen models who have to work to earn their perks and rewards, to limit the number of competing models in each school.
Check back here often as we announce the members of the 2011 Senior Model Squad and share their images. We’re ready to have some fun and create some great photography!
The model squad members will appear in our advertising campaign, become official ambassadors of Dennis Kelly Photography, and receive special incentives when their friends come to Dennis Kelly for their senior portraits!
Participation is fun and exciting, and allows you the opportunity to earn rewards and benefits by representing Dennis Kelly Photography to your friends and classmates.
We only choose a limited number of squad members from each school. The application deadline is February 1st, 2010 and we will make our preliminary selections by February 10th.
Senior Model Squad Competition Criteria:

- Must be a high school junior graduating in 2011
- Must have parental consent and sign a senior model squad agreement
- Must agree to actively participate according to the requirements of the program.
Benefits of Joining our Senior Model Squad:

- Six images for use on your Facebook page (must tag our page and use as your profile image for at least one week)
- A slideshow video of your images to use on your Facebook page

We had a terrific response, and while we’re not yet done all the sessions, it’s clear we’ll have a great selection of new images to use in our ad campaign. Thanks to all our great clients who participated! We offered each of them a Free session and $100 Gift Certificate to use at the studio. We got great new images to display, and they got a chance for some significant savings on portraits they will cherish forever!
BTW, we will be running our Holiday Portrait Special this year on November 27th and 28th. Watch your email for details. If you’re not on our mailing list, but would like to receive information about upcoming studio specials, sign up here:
Here are some of the wonderful images we will be featuring in our upcoming ads: The Carey Family was so much fun to work with. I loved the one of them goofing off and acting like the real spirited family they are!
The Ertle kids were fun too. They had to beg and plead, but they finally got Mom to join in for a few shots too!
We had photographed Brenna as a high school senior not too long ago. We were glad she came back to have these special portraits made with her boyfriend.
There is nothing quite as special as the bond between Mother and Daughter, and what an honor it is to be asked to record that special bond, as we did with the Hamlyn’s!
This was a great idea! The Kausers decided to get all the GRANDKIDS together for a group portrait. What a perfect Holiday Gift for Grandmom and Grandpop! Can you think of anything they will cherish more?
We have photographed Kathy and Jeff since their high school senior portraits, uh, we won’t say how many years ago.. but, they are always fun to shoot, and now have 2 beautiful girls! Thanks guys!
The Muhlbairs were also past clients, and it was a joy to photograph the special relationship between two sisters. We were also able to talk Mom into a few as well. I’ll bet the girls will be glad she agreed.
Christine Phillips and her fiance’ were not past clients of ours, but where recommended by someone who was. Client referrals are the very lifeblood of our business… thanks!
Jessica was another of our senior portrait clients that recently got engaged. They are buying their first house! Congratulations!
We had such a blast reconnecting with past clients, meeting new ones, and creating so many memorable images. Thanks to all who participated! To those who missed out, remember there is still time to get significant savings on that Dennis Kelly Portrait you’ve always wanted during our Holiday Portrait Sale, Thanksgiving Weekend, November 27th and 28th. The kids will be home for the Holiday, and Portraits are the ONE Holiday gift only you can give… and one that will be treasured forever. If you’d like to see even more images in our special “Relationship” style, watch the video!
We are also looking for just a few more kids to photograph for our upcoming Children’s Holiday Portrait promotion. If you know someone with cute kids between the ages of 1 and 12, send them to THIS Page on our blog for information on how to participate!
Watch Me Work!
The wonderful Chris LoBello produced this promotional video for a model I have worked with many times. I came across it again and thought it would make a cool blog post. This was shot during an actual model portfolio session at my studio. Thankfully, most of the emphasis is on Melissa, and not so much on my ugly mug. But, you can get a real good idea of what a high energy, fun session here is like.
In addition to seniors, families, and kids, we also do promotional work for models, actors, performers, and the like. Really, anyone who needs to project a professional image should have professional images.

Shooting Just for Me!
You know what they say about the plumber’s house having the leaky faucet? It’s true! As a professional photographer I usually don’t want to see a camera on my day off, or on vacation. But this morning, the fall colors on my way to work were so beautiful I had to shoot some images.
Sometimes, taking time to shoot something “just for me” makes me remember why I fell in love with photography to begin with.
Introducing “Sweet and Sexy”
Dennis is fantastic and bringing out the beauty in every woman. Let Dennis capture your “Sweet and Sexy” side. Sessions start at under $200. Professional makeup service is also available. 856-228-4399

Dennis Kelly Senior Portrait Open House Event
We had an amazing time at our Open House Party on Saturday, June 20th with our senior model squad members and future senior portrait clients! We also debuted the senior portrait video which you can view below.
Senior Portrait Model of the Week - Ashlee
We get a lot of repeat customers at Dennis Kelly and when senior portrait season rolls around we often have the pleasure of shooting the little sister or brother of a previous client’s!
Ashlee is no stranger to modeling - she came to us with lots of experience under her belt, including touring with Aaron Carter. Here’s what Ashlee ha to say about our studio:
My experience with Dennis Kelly was awesome! It was everything I expected and more. He spent so much time with me and gave me so many different options as far as poses, backgrounds, and props, and he really made me feel at ease with everything I did. Posing for my senior pictures with Dennis seemed so easy and natural, and the time just went by so quickly. I absolutely love my pictures. I am amazed that Dennis was able to capture my personality in my pictures so that they appear almost candid and not stiff or posed like other senior pictures I’ve seen. You only have one opportunity to look your best in your senior pictures, and I am very happy that Dennis Kelly helped me look my best in mine.
Check out some of our favorite shots!
Trash the Dress
While we don’t shoot weddings, we DO shoot engagement portraits. This lovely couple came to us to shoot their portraits on the beach in Ocean City. After a playful day, I mentioned the new ‘Trash the Dress’ movement to the future bride. We got together post-nuptials and shot these amazing photos! She was kind enough to share her account of the story below. Enjoy!
Kristin and Ryan’s Story
This unconventional idea started off as a joke. My husband, Ryan, and I chose Dennis Kelly Photography to get our engagement pictures done shortly after his proposal. We headed down to Ocean City for beach portraits. Dennis was feeling creative so Ryan and I ended up soaked in sea water and sand. As we were laughing and drying off, Dennis said to me, “We should post these on Trash the Dress.com.” I was intrigued, and after looking at the website and examples of trashed dresses, my wedding gown’s fate was set even before we had an official date for the wedding.
Dennis agreed to take the portraits after the wedding and we spent a few weeks passing ideas back and forth. We finally settled on a location which had railroad tracks, a forest, and large hills of dirt. On an unusually warm February evening I found myself back in my gown and looking down at the muddy field in front of me. I asked myself what the hell I was doing, took a deep breath and began to trudge through the muck.
It was the most memorable evening my husband and I had spent since the wedding itself. Dennis started off, fairly clean, with me balancing in heels on the tracks. We then moved into the forest to nestle up among leafless bushes and fallen leaves. As the dress started to get browner and covered in twigs, we headed towards the hill of dirt. I felt like a child again as Dennis had me climb all over the hill, balancing precariously on an old tire so he could get the perfect shot. My dress’s grand finale was a puddle of mud that I “accidentally” fell into.
I couldn’t have thought of a better way to preserve my wedding gown. The pictures are breath-taking and the experience was unforgettable. So now instead of a forgotten box in the closet, I have an album of beautiful images and a very interesting conversation piece.
